Where have I been the last month???

It is really a very sad story. My computer crashed...meaning I lost EVERYTHING. Every photo and video of my baby..everything gone. Didn't I have back up?...no, I dont even know what that means. Didn't I print my photos?...no, and now I hate digital photography. I long for the days of shoe boxes full of photos. Seriously, I cried for 2 days. But thanks to this blog and my Mom who saved everything I have ever emailed her, I have remnants of Misters infancy. I was a fool...and blame myself (maybe mostly boyfriend because he knew better) so now I will learn from this lesson and print out my photos every month. For now, here is a photo of the Easter bonnet headband that I recently listed in the shop.

Whaaat? Oh no, I didn't know this. Did you take your computer in? You had a Mac right? Geoff has been able to retrieve all sorts of things that I thought I lost. You probably already did.

I'm getting ready to place an order. I can't get enough of these doodads.

Ughhhh!!! That would kill me!!!! We had a small crash. We now use a back up system called time machine. It's really amazing. it backs my stuff up daily.
I use to be good about printing my pictures. but I haven't been with my little davy.

Ann: I am devastated to hear you lost pictures of your Son. I don't back anything up either and feel I am "safe" because I put everything on my external hard drive. I just discovered that I am not and I had better back things up!!! I thank you for sharing your loss -- your info. will help so many NOT loose precious memories.

P.S. I am grateful your Mom had pictures; and I love your plan of action.

P.P.S. I feel lucky that your friend shared her advice about time machine. Thanks to her, too!

Blessings and Light,

Rachel

good lesson for ALL of us non techy people, but I'm SO very sorry you had to lose so much :( Thought that happened to us last Summer, but thankfully, my husband had done a back up just months before...

I'll take your newfound wisdom and apply it to my life...time to order some pics...

There is a chance you can get it back. This happened to my sister, and an expert said to google data recovery. And for like $200, they can get it back. But the MUST HAVE is that they must have a clean room. I'm not sure what that is, but he stressed the "clean room" numerous times.

My husband says there are hard drive recovery companies...it just matters how you lost everything. There is hope!

Did you call Apple and ask to speak with one of the genius people? One of our other macs also crashed and we were able to retrieve some things off of it.

I don't know how because Billy took care of it, but I just hate to think they are gone for good :(
